E-way Bill

An electronic document required to move goods worth more than ₹50,000 — generated before the goods start moving, not after.
It's tied to the specific shipment, not a general permit — a new e-way bill is needed for each qualifying movement of goods. It captures where the goods are coming from, going to, and their value, and transporters can be stopped and fined if goods are moving without a valid one attached.
