MOA (Memorandum of Association)
In One Line
The document that defines a company's purpose, scope, and boundaries — what it's legally allowed to do.
Every Private Limited Company and OPC files one at incorporation. It answers, in legal terms, what business the company is actually in — activities outside that scope technically require an amendment. In practice, MOAs are drafted broadly enough that this rarely becomes a real constraint for a growing business.
