ROC (Registrar of Companies)

In One Line

The government office, under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, that companies and LLPs are registered with and file annual returns to.

Every state has an ROC office, and every registered company or LLP is filed under one based on its registered office address. Annual returns, changes in directors, and other statutory filings all go through the ROC — it's the ongoing compliance relationship that starts the day you incorporate.
